Free Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Comes to Mariakani

Beyond Zero’s monthly Kilifi screening initiative continues in Kaloleni Sub County, bringing free early detection services closer to women and communities.
Beyond Zero, in collaboration with the County Government of Kilifi Department of Health Services, will hold this month’s free breast and cervical cancer screening at Mariakani Sub County Hospital in Kaloleni Sub County on August 13 & 14, 2026, from 9 AM to 5 PM.
The two-day exercise forms part of the continuing monthly screening initiative in Kilifi County, helping bring opportunities for early detection closer to communities.
The need remains significant. In Kenya, cervical cancer is the second most common cancer among women, with an estimated 5,845 new cases and 3,600 deaths annually, according to the World Health Organization.
For the women and families of Mariakani and surrounding communities, the message is simple: do not wait until something feels wrong to pay attention to your health.
Screening provides an opportunity to identify abnormalities earlier and, where necessary, begin the pathway towards further diagnosis and care.
Early detection saves lives.
