Training of Trainers of Trainers on cervical cancer ‘screen & treat’ in Kilifi County

Beyond Zero joined Kilifi County in launching a Training of Trainers (ToT) program focused on cervical cancer “screen and treat”. This five-day workshop, held in collaboration with the Ministry of Health’s National Cancer Control Program, brought together 21 healthcare professionals from the seven sub-counties of Kilifi; Kilifi South, Kilifi North, Malindi, Kaloleni, Rabai, Magarini, and Ganze.

The program is designed to strengthen the capacity of healthcare workers in preventing, screening, detecting, and treating cervical cancer.

Speaking at the event, Beyond Zero’s Technical Advisor, Jane Kiragu, emphasized the organization’s commitment to advancing women’s health. She underscored the importance of investing in the training of healthcare workers, which was identified as a critical component in Beyond Zero’s partnership with Kilifi County to combat cervical cancer.

This training, developed and facilitated by the Ministry of Health, seeks to fill crucial skill gaps, aligning with Kenya’s 2030 goal to achieve the 90-70-90 targets for cervical cancer elimination.
